If you’ve been following MIMOSA for a while, you know capturing quintessential Louisiana landscapes is a passion that literally pulls me out of bed every morning.

I head out to see what nature has for me, and even on the gloomiest days, there is a banquet of beauty.

Thanks to our long growing season and abundance of water, plants and animals (especially birds passing through) can thrive in the littlest pond or ditch. Sometimes, even the littlest pothole. ;) We have easy access to a kind of wild nature most city folks have to drive miles and miles to enjoy.

Taking in these small snapshots of Louisiana's wildlife and landscapes is like taking a daily dose of the best medicine.

This piece is a pill-shaped diorama that holds a miniature capture of our most typical wild Louisiana landscape. Bald cypress trees, egrets, cattails, water, and a big, bold sun are the ingredients of our outdoor life here.

The earring measures 3/4" from top of design to bottom (not including ring at the top) and 1/4" from side to side, and weighs 6.0 grams in bronze. 

*The price listed above includes standard ear wires only (shown in the product photos). If you choose to add lever-back ear wires, the updated total will be reflected in your cart.

 

To create the original version of this intricate piece, we used 3D-printed elements combined with our method of hand-carving wax. Click here to learn more about how we use the lost-wax casting method to create our pieces.

Orders for in-stock items usually ship within 3-7 days of being placed. 

  • Exceptions: wholesale orders 

Orders containing out-of-stock items can take 1-3 weeks to ship (though it's usually closer to 2 weeks).

  • PRIORITY ($10) - USPS Priority service usually takes 1-3 business days to be delivered once the package is mailed.
  • PRIORITY EXPRESS ($27) - USPS Priority Express provides next-day to 2–day delivery service once the package is mailed.

TRACKING

  • A tracking number will be automatically emailed to you once package is shipped if an email address was provided at checkout. Please allow 24 hours for tracking information to update.
  • If you feel that your package has been lost in the mail, please contact USPS to start a claim.
