Loblolly Pine Needle Collection

Loblolly Pine Needle Collection

The first time I learned about the Pinus taeda, more commonly known as the Loblolly pine, I was in the thick of my plant classes studying landscape architecture.

One of the key characteristics of the Loblolly is that it is a diploxylon pine with stiff leaves arranged in bundles of 2-3 needles.

Between landscape classes and 5-ish years working in garden beds, I've gotten to know the pine needle pretty well. It was only a matter of time before it made its way into our collection.

We launched the first piece in the Loblolly Collection back in 2019, and it's still one of our favorites.

LOBLOLLY PINE NEEDLE CUFF & RING

Those Loblolly pine needles are what inspired these strips of metal that wrap around your wrist or finger.

These pieces are lightweight and comfortable. And the cuff stacks well with all your other jewelry. So even if you're not in the market for a Loblolly-inspired piece, the intriguing organic shape still makes both the cuff and ring great statement pieces to add to your collection.

Did You Know? — We think the little details are important. ;) If you flip our Loblolly Cuff over, you can count out each of the 3 needle bundles.

You can see them here on the sterling silver version of the Loblolly Cuff!

*Ring measures approximately 1/2" from top to bottom. Because this ring has a thicker band, we recommend ordering a half size larger than your typical ring size for this piece. Not sure about your ring size? Click Here!

LOBLOLLY FESTIVAL

During the summer of 2020, my friend introduced me to the renovation show Home Town. It's based in Laurel, Mississippi, and apparently the town of Laurel has a LOBLOLLY FESTIVAL?!

They opened one of the episodes at the festival, and I almost fell off the couch when I heard “Loblolly Festival.” Of all the festivals I’ve been to over the years, I don’t know how this one slipped by?!

They always schedule it for the first Saturday in October, and this year, that's this Saturday, October 1.  Have you heard of it?! Have you been? Are you going? We think it's just the coolest thing.

If you haven't heard of this free festival, check it out here! They'll have plenty of food options, activities for the kids, live music, and more.⁣

Also, I'm thinking everyone in Laurel, MS needs a Loblolly piece now. Just sayin'. ;)
